VCS and ABS lights go on and off intermittently on Lexus?

If you need dis-assembly or replacement instructions for any other auto/car part, or you want to ask question related to your car/truck jeep problem then please leave the comment with your details, so I can provide you the required instructions and solutions.

This problem is noticed on many Lexus car models. The car will not go in gear unless you
press shift lever override button. And VCS and ABS light is on.

Check & replace if necessary the Brake Pedal Position (BPP) switch placed above pedals on the support.
If the problem still occurs you might access the ABS & VCS ECU (Electronic Control Unit) using diagnostic equipment connected to the data link connector of the car, in order to pull out all DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) memored.
Then you will be able to replace bad piece(s) and fix the problem by erasing all DTC stocked inside ABS ECU & reset it.
The VCS system means the Vehicle Control System, and is the similar system with the ESP = Electronic Stability Program. If the VCS & ABS lights on the dashboard, the VCS system is faulty. You must access the VCS Electronic Control Unit (ECU) memory for pull out all DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Codes), using diagnostic equipment connected to the data link connector of the car. Then you will be full informed about bad pieces (e.g.: brake pedal switch, front right wheel abs sensor interrupted, ...). After bad pieces replacement you will be able to erase all faults memored by VCS ECU, in other words reset the VCS system and turn off the warning lamp on dashboard.
It's possible that your brake pedal switch is faulty because the VCS & ABS warning light went ON and brake lights quit working. Just replace the Brake Pedal Position (BPP) switch, see if rear stop lamps light when press the brake pedal, and test the car on the road.
