Mercury Topaz will not start after filling gas?

If you need dis-assembly or replacement instructions for any other auto/car part, or you want to ask question related to your car/truck jeep problem then please leave the comment with your details, so I can provide you the required instructions and solutions.

Car not starting after filling gas, mostly required gas is not filled,or the fuel is contaminated or fuel filter is clogged.

First of all this car is fuel injected, there is no carburetor. How much gas did you put in the tank? At least 3 gallons is required many times to get the tiny electric fuel pump to not pull air. If adding more gas doesn't get it started you may have burned out the electric fuel pump, the reason is this, the electric fuel pump that is inside the fuel tank depends on the gas it sits and runs in for cooling and lubrication, so when you run out of gas it can and may times does destroy the fuel pump many times, this is even more so true on cars with lots of miles on the pump. You can try adding more fuel and taking a rubber hammer and hitting the bottom of the tank while someone turns the engine over, this may free up the pump, if not then the pump must be replaced, this requires the fuel tank to be removed from the car to gain access to the fuel pump.

This details will help.Thanks.
