PLEASE HELP.I WANT TO REPLACE WIPER SWITCH ON CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY .IS IT DIFFICULT AND ALSO GIVE ME COMPLETE PROCEDURE AND DIAGRAMS TOO.

Its not very difficult you can do it.

If yours have the tamper proof torx screws.You will need tamper proof torx bits,,,these can be bought at auto zone and most parts stores for around $10.

The windshield wiper switch is a stalk mounted control on all except 1991 models. On 1991 models, the wiper switch is mounted on the instrument cluster pod along with the rear wiper switch.

FOR 1992-95 Models

Disconnect the negative battery cable.
With tilt column, remove the tilt lever.
Remove both upper and lower steering column covers.
Remove the multi-function switch tamper proof mounting screws.
Pull the switch away from the column and loosen the connector screw. The screw will remain in the connector.
Remove the wiring connector from the multi-function switch.

To install:

Install the wiring connector to the switch and tighten the connector retaining screw to 17 inch lbs. (2 Nm).
Mount the multi-function switch to the column and tighten the retaining screws to 17 inch lbs. (2 Nm).
With tilt column, install the tilt lever.
Connect the negative battery cable.

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

1984-90 Models

STANDARD STEERING COLUMN

See Figures 1 and 2

Disconnect the negative battery cable.
Remove the steering wheel horn pad assembly.
Remove the lower steering column cover, silencer and reinforcement.
Remove the wiper switch wiring harness from the steering column retainer.
Remove the wash/wipe switch cover. Rotate the cover upward.
Disengage the wipe/wash seven terminal electrical connector.
Disengage the intermittent the wipe switch electrical connector or speed control electrical connector, if equipped.
Unlock the steering column and turn the wheel so that the access hole provided in the wheel base is in the 9 o'clock position.
Reach through the access hole using a small screwdriver and loosen the turn signal lever mounting screw.
Remove the wipe/wash switch assembly the from steering column.
Slide the circular hider up the control stalk and remove the (2) screws that attach the control stalk sleeve to wipe/wash switch.
Remove the wipe/wash switch control knob from the multifunction control stalk. Rotate the control stalk to full clockwise position and pull the shaft from the switch.

To install:

Install the stalk shaft into the wash/wipe switch and rotate full counterclockwise.
Install the wash/wipe switch control knob onto the end of the multifunction control stalk.
Install (2) retaining screws that secure the wipe/wash switch to the control stalk sleeve.
Install the wipe/wash switch assembly to the steering column.
Install and tighten the turn signal lever screw (through the access hole).
Engage the wipe/wash seven terminal electrical connector.
Engage the intermittent wipe switch electrical connector or speed control electrical connector, if equipped.
Install the wash/wipe switch cover.
Secure the wiring harness into the steering column retainer.
Install the reinforcement, silencer and lower steering column cover.
Install the steering wheel horn pad assembly.
Connect the negative batter cable.

TILT STEERING COLUMN

See Figure 2

Disconnect the negative battery cable.
Remove the horn cover pad from the steering wheel. Remove steering column cover. Remove the steering wheel nut.
Remove the steering wheel using puller C-3428B, or equivalent.
Carefully remove the plastic cover from the locking plate. Install locking plate depressing tool C-4156 or equivalent onto the steering shaft. Depress the locking plate and remove the retaining ring from the mounting groove using a small screwdriver. To avoid difficulty when removing the retaining ring, the full load of the upper bearing spring should not be relieved. Remove the locking plate, canceling cam, and upper bearing spring.
Remove the switch stalk actuator screw and arm.
Remove the hazard warning knob.
Disengage the wipe/wash seven terminal electrical connector.
Disengage the intermittent wipe switch electrical connector or speed control electrical connector, if equipped.
Remove the turn signal switch (3) retaining screws.
Tape the connectors at end of the wiring to prevent snagging when removing. Place the shift bowl in low (1st) position. Remove the switch and wiring.
Remove the ignition key lamp located next to the hazard warning knob.
Insert a thin screwdriver into the lock release slot next to the lock cylinder mounting and depress the spring latch at the bottom of the slot. Remove the lock cylinder.
Insert a straightened paper clip or similar piece of wire with a hook bent on one end into the exposed loop of the wedge spring of key buzzer switch. Pull on the clip to remove both spring and switch.

If the wedge spring is dropped, it could fall into steering column, requiring complete disassembly of the column.

Remove the column housing cover (3) screws and remove the housing cover.
Use a punch, and tap the wiper switch pivot pin from the lock housing. Use tape to hold the dimmer switch rod in place.
Remove the wipe/wash switch assembly.
Slide the circular hider up the control stalk and remove the (2) screws that attach the control stalk sleeve to the wipe/wash switch.
Remove the wipe/wash switch control knob from the multifunction control stalk. Rotate the control stalk to full clockwise position and pull the shaft from the switch.

To install:

Install the stalk shaft into the wash/wipe switch and rotate full counterclockwise.
Install the wash/wipe switch control knob on the end of the multifunction control stalk.
Install the (2) retaining screws that secure the wipe/wash switch to the control stalk sleeve.
Install the wipe/wash switch assembly to the steering column.
Install the wiper switch pivot pin.
Install the housing cover and secure with retaining screws.
Install the lock cylinder.
Assemble the wedge spring to key buzzer and install the key buzzer switch.
Install the ignition key lamp.
With the shift bowl in low (1st) position, install the turn signal switch and secure with retaining screws.
Engage the wipe/wash seven terminal electrical connector.
Engage the intermittent wipe switch electrical connector or speed control electrical connector, if equipped.
Secure the wiring harness in retainer.
Install the hazard warning knob.
Install the switch stalk actuator screw and arm.
Install the locking plate, canceling cam, and upper bearing spring. Install the locking plate. Depress the locking plate with tool C-4156, or equivalent, and install the retaining ring in groove of steering shaft. Install the plastic cover on locking plate.
Install the reinforcement, silencer and lower steering column cover.
Install the steering wheel and steering shaft nut.
Install the horn contact, horn pad and install the horn pad retaining screws.
Connect the negative battery cable.
