HP 12c Calculator help?

Introduction

This document describes how to set the desired number of decimal places on the HP 12C Calculator in standard format and in scientific notation.

Instructions for standard format

      1. Press and release the gold PREFIX key (f).
      2. Press the number key for the desired number of decimal places (0 through 9).

    The display will show the specified number of decimal places. The answer will be rounded to the number of digits selected.

    Example (standard format)

    If the number in the display is 14.87456320, the display will be changed as follows:

      Keystrokes

      Display

      [ f ] 5

      14.87456

      [ f ] 1

      14.9

      [ f ] 0

      15

      [ f ] 9

      14.87456320

      Instructions for scientific notation

        1. Press and release the gold PREFIX key (f).
        2. Press the decimal point key.

      Example (scientific notation)

      The number 14.87456320 will be displayed as 1.487456 01
      NOTE: A maximum of 10 digits can show on the display.

      HP12c display from Comma to Point

      This document describes how to change the display of the decimal point on the HP 12C (HP12C) Calculator from a comma (commas) back to a decimal point.

      Instructions

      1. Turn off the calculator.
      2. Hold down the decimal point.
      3. Continue to hold the decimal point key, while turning on the calculator.

      The comma should change back to a decimal point.

      Explanation

      The comma is the European equivalent of the decimal point.

      This procedure is also applicable to HP12CP (Hewlett-Packard 12c Platinum) and HP12CPA (Hewlett-Packard 12c Platinum 25th Anniversary Edition).
