Oil Pan Removal on 2007 Dodge Caliber?

How to replace oil pan.

The complete details are for 2007 Dodge caliber car models.

The oil pan removal/ install procedure is as follows :----


  1. Raise and safely support the vehicle.
  2. Drain the engine oil.
  3. Remove the accessory drive belt splash shield.
  4. Remove the lower A/C compressor mounting bolt and remove the A/C mounting bracket.
  5. Remove the oil pan mounting bolts.
  6. Using a putty knife, loosen the seal around the oil pan.
    WARNING
    Do not use the pry points in the engine block to remove the oil pan.
  7. Remove the oil pan.

To install:
  1. Clean any old gasket material from the mating surfaces.
  2. Apply Mopar® Engine RTV GEN II at the front cover-to-engine block parting lines.

  3. Apply a 2 mm bead of Mopar® Engine RTV GEN II around the oil pan mating surface as shown in the illustration.

  4. Install the oil pan into position and tighten the bolts as follows:

    The two long bolts to 16 ft. lbs. (22 Nm).
    All other bolts to 105 inch lbs. (12 Nm).
  5. Install the oil drain plug.
  6. Install the A/C compressor mounting bracket and A/C compressor lower mounting bolt.
  7. Lower the vehicle.
  8. Refill the engine with oil to the correct level.
  9. Start the engine and check for leaks.
