The procedure is similar for both ford and Lincoln car models:-----
Its Ford F series Trucks and Lincoln Mark LT car models.
For all engine models 4.2,4.6,5.4,6.0 and 6.8L engine.
Flexplate (Driveplate)
REMOVAL & INSTALLATION Procedure is mentioned below:----
4.2L Engine
4.6L Engine
5.4L & 6.8L Engines
6.0L Diesel Engine
- Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section.
- Remove the transmission. For additional information, refer to Automatic Transmission R&I in this section.
- Remove the bolts and the flexplate.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure. Tighten to 80 Nm (59 ft. lbs.) in a criss-cross pattern.

- Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section.
- Raise and safely support the vehicle.
- Remove the transmission. For additional information, refer to Automatic Transmission R&I in this section.
- Remove the 6 flexplate bolts and the flexplate.
To install:

- Install the flexplate and the 6 bolts. Tighten the bolts in 2 stages in the sequence shown.
Stage 1: Tighten to 20 Nm (15 inch lbs.).Stage 2: Tighten to 80 Nm (59 ft. lbs.). - Install the transmission.

- Remove the 8 bolts and the flywheel.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure. Tighten to 80 Nm (59 ft. lbs.) in the sequence shown.
- Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section.
- Remove the Transmission. For additional information, refer to Automatic Transmission R&I in this section.
- Remove the bolts. Install the guide studs.
- Remove the bolts.
- Remove the reinforcing ring and the flywheel and ring gear assembly.
- Remove the guide studs.
To install:
- Install the guide studs.
- Install the flywheel and ring gear assembly.
- Install the bolts.
- Remove the guide studs. Install and tighten the bolts to 93 Nm (69 ft. lbs.).
- Install the transmission.
