Replacing Ford Taurus mode door?

The mode door removal procedure.


Removal & Installation
AIR INLET DOOR
DEFROST/PANEL/FLOOR DOOR

The instructions are as follows :-----

Air Inlet Door

Specific to:

Ford Taurus 2008-2009

Mercury Sable 2008-2009

1. Lower the glove compartment.
2. Disconnect the air inlet mode door actuator electrical connector.
3. Remove the 2 screws and the air inlet mode door actuator.
4. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Defrost/Panel/Floor Door

Specific to:

Ford Taurus 2008-2009

Mercury Sable 2008-2009

1. Remove the instrument cluster. Refer to Instrument Cluster.
2. Remove the 3 lower steering column cover screws and the cover.
3. Remove the 3 lower steering column shroud screws and the lower steering column shroud.
4. Remove the speed control deactivator switch.
   
   NOTE

   The upper rear mode door actuator screw can be accessed through the instrument cluster opening using a swivel-type socket and extension.
5. Remove the 3 defrost/panel/floor mode door actuator screws.
6. Disconnect the defrost/panel/floor mode door actuator electrical connector.
7. Remove the defrost/panel/floor mode door actuator.
8. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
