How to Replace Oil Pressure Switch on Ford Edge and Lincoln MKX?

Removal & Installation

NOTE

This procedure covers the removal and installation of the Engine Oil Pressure (EOP) switch.

1. Raise and safely support the vehicle.
2. Remove the cooling fan assembly, as outlined in the Engine Mechanical Section.
3. Disconnect the Engine Oil Pressure (EOP) switch electrical connector.
4. Remove the EOP switch.

To install:

1. Apply a suitable thread sealant with PTFE to the EOP threads before installation.
2. Install the EOP switch and tighten to 13 ft. lbs. (18 Nm).
3. Attach the switch electrical connector.
4. Install the cooling fan assembly.
5. Carefully lower the vehicle.
