washing cycles are taking up too long to complete the wash cycle?

Turn off the water supply - and disconnect the hoses. The inlet strainer/screens are likely clogged with sediment... causing the machine to fill slowly.
Remove the screens and back-flush them to clear the trapped sediment/scale - or soak them in CLR to remove the deposits.
