Always wear safety glasses when working on your vehicle. Wear other personal protective equipment (PPE) when necessary, for example latex gloves or closed toe shoes.
Open the hood and locate your vehicle's A/C compressor.

Remove the A/C belt from the A/C compressor pulley.Evacuate the A/C system using a refrigerate recovery machine.Disconnect the negative battery cable.

Remove the bolt that secures refrigerant lines to the A/C compressor. Inspect A/C lines for any contamination such as metal or excessive dirt inside of them. If you find any contamination the system will need to be cleaned.Disconnect any electrical connectors from the A/C compressor.

Remove the AC connections. Remove the A/C compressor mounting bolts.Install the new A/C compressor.Tighten the A/C compressor mounting bolts.Reconnect any electrical connecters to the A/C compressor.Reinstall the refrigerant lines and A/C belt to the A/C compressor.

Reconnect the negative battery cable.Evacuate air in the A/C system with an A/C servicing machine.Pull a vacuum on the system to check for leaks.
If system holds the vacuum, charge the system with A/C servicing machine.Turn on the A/C system with the engine running and check to see if cold air is now coming out of the air duct.
